Diesen November lädt London zu einem ganz besonderen Abend mit klassischer indischer Musik in die **Duke Hall der Royal Academy of Music** ein . Am **15. November** bringt ***London Ragas Fusion*** vier gefeierte Meister zusammen, die in ihrer Kunst eine Welt aus Tradition und Innovation vermitteln.

Im Mittelpunkt der Aufführung steht **Pandit Ajay Prasanna** , dreimal für den Grammy nominierter Flötist und einer der führenden Bansuri-Künstler Indiens. Seine Musik ist von lyrischer Gelassenheit und kreativer Brillanz geprägt – ein Klang, der Kontinente und Genres überquert hat. An seiner Seite steht **Shahbaz Hussain** . Der renommierte und versierte Tabla-Virtuose gilt als einer der besten Spieler Europas und ist bekannt für seine dynamischen und komplexen Darbietungen klassischer indischer Musik und Fusion-Projekte.

Zu ihnen gesellen sich der Pianist **Rekesh Chauhan** , ein preisgekrönter Pianist, der für seine nahtlose Verbindung klassischer indischer Musik mit westlichen Instrumenten bekannt ist, und **RN Prakash** , ein Meister des südindischen **Ghatam,** dessen erdige Tontopfrhythmen dem Ensemble Struktur und Vitalität verleihen. Gemeinsam schaffen diese vier Künstler eine Klangmischung, bei der Nord- und Südindien aufeinandertreffen und Ost und West in Harmonie verschmelzen.

Doch dieser Abend ist mehr als nur Musik; er ist auch eine Einladung zum Innehalten, Nachdenken und Erleben der heilenden Resonanz des Klangs. Seit Jahrhunderten gilt Musik in den klassischen indischen Traditionen als eine Form der Meditation, als Mittel, das innere Gleichgewicht in uns selbst und in unseren Gemeinschaften wiederherzustellen. In der heutigen Welt erinnern uns diese zeitlosen Praktiken an die tiefe Verbindung zwischen Musik, geistiger Gesundheit, Achtsamkeit und emotionalem Wohlbefinden.

Wenn die Bansuri atmet, das Klavier singt, die Tabla spricht und das Ghatam pulsiert, verwandelt sich der Saal in ein Heiligtum aus Rhythmus und Melodie. Egal, ob Sie schon lange klassische indische Musik hören oder sie zum ersten Mal entdecken, dieser Abend bietet nicht nur eine Aufführung, sondern auch Erneuerung – eine Chance, sich durch die universelle Sprache der Musik erhoben, verbunden und gestärkt zu fühlen.

I mean, I've got to say, I felt absolute bliss just running through my body throughout that entire event. I just couldn't stop smiling.    Who is the flautist Pandit Ajay Prasanna, and what is his musical lineage?    

[**Pandit Ajay Prasanna**](/de-de/artist/ajay-prasanna) is a [flute](/de-de/instrument/flute) player from a musical family. He carries forward the legacy of his father, Bholanath Prasanna, a flute master whose students include Hariprasad Chaurasia. He plays in the style of the Banaras gharana. He has performed across India and abroad, including at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and at festivals in Asia and Europe. His honours include Grammy nominations, the Global Indian Music Award for his album Cinema, the Sangeet Ratna Award and the Surmani Award.



 

 

  

   Who is Rekesh Chauhan, and what is he known for?    

[**Rekesh Chauhan**](/de-de/artist/rekesh-chauhan) is a British pianist who blends eastern and western styles. He won the NIAA Young Musician of the Year in 2018 and the Eastern Electronica Prize. He received the British Empire Medal in the 2023 King's Birthday Honours for his music and his work for mental health in the British Asian community. His debut album, Beyond Roots, came out with Milapfest in 2015. With KalaSudha he has worked with [Pandit Ajay Prasanna](/de-de/artist/ajay-prasanna) and [Ustad Shahbaz Hussain](/de-de/artist/shahbaz-hussain).



 

 

  

   What is a bansuri, how is it made, and how is it played?    

A [**bansuri**](/de-de/instrument/flute) is a transverse flute cut from a single length of seasoned bamboo. It has no keys and no moving parts, only six finger holes, or seven in Pannalal Ghosh's style. The maker burns or drills the blow hole and the finger holes. The player controls pitch through the lips at the blow hole, breath pressure and **half-holing**, covering a finger hole in part, which gives the slides and bends of a raga. Until the 1940s it was not thought a concert instrument; Pannalal Ghosh made a larger [bansuri](/de-de/instrumental/hindustani-classical/bansuri-flute) for the classical stage.
