Thank you for September

Dear [ksweb-subscriber:first-name],

Thank you for joining us in September, at The Bhavan on the 23rd, at The Tate Institute on the 26th, or at both. Each evening needed a room that listens, and you gave us one.

London Ragas, our monthly baithak, continues on Sunday 11 October with Kathak.

London Ragas: The Story and the Steps

London Ragas: The Story and the Steps, Kathak by Alokparna Guha

Alokparna Guha dances Kathak, with Debipriya Sircar singing and live tabla. If you were at The Bhavan, you saw her dance the second half there.

She opens with two short lecture-demonstrations, one on where Kathak comes from and one on tabla. After the interval she dances the traditional repertoire. She tells you what to look for, then you watch it.

Book Tickets

In November we tour A Hundred Strings, with Adnan Khan on sitar, Vinay Desai on santoor and Ustad Akram Khan on tabla. The tour plays Oxford on 18 November and Manchester on 20 November, then comes to London for two concerts, on 21 and 22 November. We will write to you with venues and tickets once booking opens. Please keep both dates free.

We have one request. You reach people our adverts cannot, and any of these would help us:

  1. Forward this email to one friend who would enjoy the 11 October evening.
  2. Share the event link in a WhatsApp or community group you belong to.
  3. Bring someone who has never been to an Indian classical concert. This evening explains itself before the dancing starts.
  4. Reply to this email with a line or two about the evening you attended. We will ask before we quote you.

See you at Royal Wharf,

The KalaSudha Team
