Thank you, Reading

Dear [ksweb-subscriber:first-name],

Thank you for joining us at The Great Hall on Saturday 12 September, for the afternoon concert, the evening one, or both.

Our next concert near you is in Oxford, a short train ride from Reading, on Wednesday 18 November.

A Hundred Strings in Oxford: Two Strings, One Pulse

A Hundred Strings in Oxford: sitar, santoor and tabla at the Holywell Music Room

Adnan Khan, a Grammy-nominated sitarist, shares a raga with Vinay Desai on santoor, the hundred-stringed instrument of Kashmir. Ustad Akram Khan plays tabla for both.

The sitar is plucked and slides between notes. The santoor is struck and moves in runs. You hear one raga travel two routes.

We also play in London each month. London Ragas is our baithak: one room, close seating, no stage set back from the audience. On Sunday 11 October at 5:00 PM, Alokparna Guha dances Kathak at Royal Wharf Community Dock, London E16 2ZA. She explains the form in the first half and dances it in the second. If you are in London that weekend, come and sit with us. Early Bird tickets are £20 until 5:00 PM on Sunday 4 October.

We have one request. You reach people our adverts cannot, and any of these would help us:

  1. Forward this email to one friend in Reading or Oxford who would enjoy the 18 November concert.
  2. Share the Oxford event link in a WhatsApp or community group you belong to.
  3. Introduce us to a society, temple, school or music group in Reading. A local introduction fills more seats than our posters do.
  4. Reply to this email with a line or two about 12 September. We will ask before we quote you.

With warm regards,
The KalaSudha Team
