About KalaSudha in Exeter

In 2023, Exeter South Asia Centre put a teacher and student on the same programme of Indian classical music in Exeter. The 25 May concert at Exeter Phoenix included a short performance by an Exeter doctoral student alongside his teacher. KalaSudha is developing its own concert and workshop plans for the city, separate from that earlier programme.

You may want to hear experienced musicians before deciding whether to study yourself. KalaSudha welcomes first-time concertgoers as well as people already learning an instrument or singing. Our plans focus on performances by top-class musicians. Workshops could provide time for practical learning, subject to sufficient local interest and suitable arrangements. Attending a concert carries no expectation of taking lessons afterwards.

For study between live events, our online courses are available independently of an Exeter workshop. Instructors build structured courses with KalaSudha, and top educationists vet the teaching. Local registrations will help us plan future Exeter visits; venues and performers are still to be confirmed. Press Register for updates about Exeter concerts and workshops to receive programme announcements and booking details when events are confirmed.
