Pandit Debasis Chakroborty's instrument is the slide lap guitar, held flat on the lap. The [**Senia-Maihar gharana**](/en-ca/gharana/senia-maihar-gharana) is the [sarod](/en-ca/instrumental/hindustani-classical/sarod) lineage that Allauddin Khan founded at Maihar, a former princely state, in the early 20th century.
