About KalaSudha in Copenhagen
In June 2026, Indian classical music in Copenhagen came with a lesson first: the Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School on Købmagergade listed an introductory workshop for Saturday 13 June. Called Resonance, it led up to sitar and tabla concerts on 18 and 19 June and again on 21 June. The Sunday concert was listed for an earlier start, at 4pm. The school's page promised Indian music's distinctive melodies and tone systems, the ragas.
KalaSudha is planning concerts and workshops for Copenhagen, both with top-class Indian classical musicians. Where a workshop runs beside a concert, our listing will say which comes first and who it is for. No background is needed for either.
If the sitar or the tabla draws you in, you can study either online with a live teacher through the KalaSudha academy. Lessons start at Foundation level and move up in stages. Every course is set out in levels by its instructor and vetted by top educationists. A Copenhagen workshop of our own would need enough interest and suitable arrangements, and none is planned yet. Press Register for updates and we will write when there is news.
Why Copenhagen
What sets KalaSudha apart in Copenhagen
-
An introduction first
The Resonance workshop came five days before the first concert, on a Saturday afternoon. An introduction like that lets you hear the concerts with some idea of what to listen for.
-
Know the room before you book
The June concerts were set in a yoga and meditation school. KalaSudha's own Copenhagen listings will name the venue and the seating before booking opens.
-
Lessons built for sound
KalaSudha's online lessons run in HD video with stereo audio built for music. You hear the sitar's ring and the tabla's strokes as your teacher plays them.
