The instructor approves your request within 48 hours, and we email you the confirmation. 2 min read Updated October 8, 2026 In this article [Book the session](#section-0) [Waiting for the instructor](#section-1) [If the instructor declines](#section-2) [If this does not work](#section-3) Choose the course, level, session length and a time on the instructor's calendar, then pay at checkout. Your request goes to the instructor, who approves it within 48 hours. Once approved, we email you the confirmation and the session appears on your dashboard. ## Book the session 1. Open the course page and select **Book 1:1 Session**, or select **Book a Session** on the instructor's profile. 2. Under **What would you like to learn?**, choose the **Course** and **Level**. 3. If you have added learners to your account, choose who the session is for under **Who is this session for?** 4. Choose the session length under **Duration**. 5. Pick a date on the calendar, then a time. The calendar shows times the instructor has open. 6. Select **Review session** and check the course, level, length, date and time. 7. Select **Add to cart**. We hold your slot for 10 minutes. 8. Select **View cart** and pay at checkout. Nothing is charged before checkout. ## Waiting for the instructor After you pay, we email you to say the request has reached the instructor. Your dashboard at [/user/dashboard](/user/dashboard) lists it under **Awaiting Instructor Approval**. The instructor approves within 48 hours. Some instructors accept bookings straight away, and then you skip this wait. Once approved, we email you the confirmation with the session details. We record the session. We send reminders 24 hours and 20 minutes before it starts. To join, see [Join your video class](/help/technical-help/join-your-video-class). ## If the instructor declines If the instructor cannot take the session, we email you their reason and release the time. We refund your payment to the card you paid with. The refund reaches your account within 7 to 14 business days. To move or cancel a session after it is confirmed, give at least 48 hours' notice. Please choose a new time.":** someone booked it first, or your 10-minute hold ran out. Pick another time. - **"This profile does not offer bookable sessions.":** the instructor is not taking bookings at the moment. - **"Too many booking attempts. Please try again later.":** wait an hour and try again. - **No email after paying:** check spam and promotions, then check your dashboard. If you have not heard from us within 48 hours of booking, write to with your order number and the instructor's name.
