# Do I need to bring an instrument?

 Updated 17 October 2026

No. You can join a KalaSudha workshop without an instrument and still take part. Bring yours if you have one: the one-to-one feedback on your playing needs an instrument in your hands.

Much of a session is listening, watching the teacher's hands and asking questions, and you can do all of that without an instrument.

To check which instruments work, see [Do I have to play the instrument being taught?](/faq/workshops-learning/do-i-have-to-play-the-instrument-being-taught)
