To get back in, reset your password or wait: the block lifts by itself once the window has passed. ## The messages you may see For one account, the sign-in page shows: - "There have been more than 5 failed login attempts for this account. It is temporarily blocked. Try again later or request a new password." For one network, such as a home or office connection, it shows: - "Too many failed login attempts from your IP address. This IP address is temporarily blocked. Try again later or request a new password." In the account message, "request a new password" links to the [reset page](/en-in/user/password). ## How long the block lasts The account block counts failed sign-ins over 6 hours. The network block counts 50 failed sign-ins from one IP address over 1 hour. Each lifts by itself once those attempts fall outside the window. The network count includes everyone on that connection. On a shared office or family connection, other people's failed attempts add to it. ## Get back in with a new password 1. Press **Forgot your password?** on the sign-in page, or the "request a new password" link in the message. 2. Enter the email address your account uses. 3. Press **Submit**. 4. Follow the link in "Reset Your Password - KalaSudha" within 24 hours. 5. Set a new password. Then [sign in](/en-in/user/login) with it. ## If reset requests are blocked too Reset requests have their own count, with the same limits. Past it, the reset page shows: "Too many password recovery requests from your IP address. It is temporarily blocked. Try again later or contact the site administrator."
