# How do I get a certificate for a course or workshop?

You earn a KalaSudha certificate for each module once your teacher credits every skill it covers. Module certificates lead to level awards; workshops give a certificate of participation.

In this article [How a module certificate is earned](#section-0) [The level awards](#section-1) [What your award records](#section-2) [What the certificates count for](#section-3) [Learnt with another teacher?](#section-4) [Workshops and summer camps](#section-5) [Related help](#section-6)

You earn a KalaSudha certificate for each module of a course once your teacher has credited every skill the module covers. The three module certificates of a level lead to that level's award, and a workshop or summer camp gives every participant a certificate of participation.

## How a module certificate is earned

Every topic in a course credits named skills. Your teacher closes a topic only after reviewing your work. When every skill in the module is credited, the module ends in its certificate. KalaSudha issues every award itself.

To follow where you stand, read [See your progress in a course](/en-in/help/courses-learning/see-your-progress-in-a-course).

## The level awards

- **Foundation** leads to the **Sthayi Certificate**, assessed through practical work and spoken questions.
- **Intermediate** leads to the **Antara Diploma**, which adds written theory.
- **Advanced** leads to the **Sanchari Advanced Diploma**, which adds theory papers and a judged stage performance.

Above the three sits the **Abhog Fellowship**, which KalaSudha awards and no course teaches. The [certificates page](/en-in/indian-classical-music-certificates) sets out each award in full.

## What your award records

An award earned on a KalaSudha course names the discipline you studied and the skills you attained. It also records your learning hours, and the teacher and tradition you studied under, such as a gharana, the family school a style comes from.

## What the certificates count for

KalaSudha's certificates are its own awards. They carry no exam-board or school-qualification status. Our levels prepare you to sit board exams if you want a board grade as well.

## Learnt with another teacher?

A learner of any teacher, in any country, can ask to be assessed against the same skills. Use the learner enquiry form on the [certificates page](/en-in/indian-classical-music-certificates) to ask.

## Workshops and summer camps

Every participant at a KalaSudha workshop or summer camp receives a certificate of participation. It is never tied to a level, grade, exam or award. [Can I join a workshop or summer camp near me?](/en-in/help/courses-learning/can-i-join-a-workshop-or-summer-camp-near-me) explains how workshops come to an area.
