About This Track
Aditya Dip plays Chautaal at drut laya on Jalad Chautaal, the second track of Echoes of Kashi. Jalad means fast, the same as drut. Dr Indradeo Choudhary keeps the harmonium lehra at the quicker pace. The cycle is the twelve-beat Chautaal of the opening track, and the pakhawaj solo runs thirteen and a half minutes against twenty-nine for the first.
It comes second of three, after the opening Chautaal and before Sadra, the ten-beat closing track.
