About This Track
Pandit Debasis Chakroborty plays Raag Charukeshi on solo Indian slide guitar. Charukeshi comes from the Carnatic system and uses seven notes with flat dha and ni. It can carry devotion, love or despair, and the slide guitar's glide between notes suits a raga that leans on the pull between its flat and natural notes.
Second track on The Pulse, it follows the opening Kirwani and leads into the nine-minute Bhairavi.
