About This Track
Pandit Debasis Chakroborty plays Raag Mishra Pilu on solo Indian slide guitar. Pilu belongs to the Kafi thaat and moves between komal and shuddha forms of ga, ni and dha. The mishra, or mixed, treatment lets phrases from neighbouring ragas in, and the form is a staple of thumri and light classical playing.
Fourth track on The Pulse, it follows Bhairavi and leads into the mix of ragas in Journey through the Cloud.
