Updated 27 October 2026 Singers can learn the [swarmandal](/en-int/instrumental/hindustani-classical/swarmandal) online with KalaSudha, live and one-to-one with a vetted teacher. It is a plucked box zither of North India that Hindustani classical singers play to accompany their own voice, with one string to each note. You retune those strings for every raga, the melodic framework you sing. At **Foundation** you learn your instrument and its wrest pins, then **raga tuning**: the raga's notes repeated across the octaves. Later you play while you sing. Our [courses](/en-int/courses) run in levels; when enough learners in an area register interest, we hold workshops and summer camps there. Was this answer helpful?
