 FAQ

# Which bansuri style or gharana does the course teach?

 Updated 6 November 2026

The Bansuri (Flute) course prepared by KalaSudha teaches a shared core that follows no single teaching line. Foundation introduces the Maihar, Banaras and seven-hole lines of the [bansuri](/en-jp/instrumental/hindustani-classical/bansuri-flute) through labelled listening, and Intermediate compares them through examples.

Module 3B has two studies for each line, such as the Maihar line's beenkari ang alap, a dhrupad-rooted approach. The seventh-hole study needs a seven-hole flute, but no learner has to buy one for an elective. Studying a line does not make you a member of it.
