Overview
About Advanced
Advanced pakhawaj prepares a thirty-minute continuous solo and fifteen minutes of live accompaniment, with composition and supervised teaching alongside. You enter after Intermediate or a placement against its outcomes. It is the third level of the pakhawaj course prepared by KalaSudha. As a typical guide, Advanced takes 12–30 months, and you agree the pace with your teacher.
Module 3A develops six thekas, with Rudra and Gajjhampa suggested as additions, and three detailed solo cycles. You extend the repertoire to twelve parans, including chakradars, a farmaishi and stuti studies, control tone across density and volume, and build twenty minutes of solo development.

Module 3B covers fractional layakari at 5:4, 7:4 and 5:2, six tihais including a multi-cycle design, and the provenance of repertoire claims. You compose an original paran and revise it after another player reads the notation.
Module 3C brings ten minutes of Dhrupad and five of Dhamar with live partners, a supervised Foundation lesson and sourced tala theory. In a cohort, you rehearse the solo in front of fellow learners, and an elective has you arrange a composition for two performers. Your teacher and a second qualified assessor review the performance and a live viva, and the level leads to a KalaSudha award (see certificates). Ask about Advanced in the Academy.

Questions about Advanced
Entry, pace, assessment and what you show to finish the level.
Preparation for a first pakhawaj performance runs through Advanced. Module 3C asks for four weeks of practice review, a sound check and agreed reference, tempos, balance, transitions and ending signals with your partners.
You then perform a thirty-minute solo and live Dhrupad and Dhamar accompaniment for two assessors, followed by a viva.
The Advanced level of the pakhawaj course ends with a thirty-minute continuous solo plus ten minutes of Dhrupad and five of Dhamar with live partners, at least one of them vocal, including six cue exchanges. Your teacher and a second qualified assessor must both agree each milestone.
You also submit a transcription, source analysis, an original paran and tihai and a supervised lesson, and answer a live viva.
Yes. A pakhawaj learner returning after a break joins through a placement that tests the actual module outcomes, including sound production. Your teacher records the evidence and any gaps, then places you at a suitable level.
Your evidenced common credit from an earlier path stays on your record.
Yes. Advanced pakhawaj includes a twenty-minute Foundation lesson that you plan and teach under supervision. You diagnose a learner's error, check their response and revise your plan after feedback.
A teaching revision elective lets you reteach a corrected exercise and evaluate the learner's response.
