The movement is largely Sampurna (seven-note) but relies heavily on the Meend (glissando) between the notes, particularly from g to r and d to P, which imbues the raga with its characteristic pathos. While the Madhyam (m) acts as the melodic anchor, the phrasing often treats the Shadaj (S) as a point of ultimate resolution.
