Origins & Context
ଶ୍ରୀ ହେଉଛି ଭାରତୀୟ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀୟ ସଙ୍ଗୀତର ସବୁଠାରୁ ଗମ୍ଭୀର ଏବଂ ଭାରୀ ରାଗଗୁଡ଼ିକ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଗୋଟିଏ । ଏହା ଏକ ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ରାଗ ("ଆଦିରାଗା"), ଏବଂ ଏକ ଅଲ୍ପ ଜଣାଶୁଣା ତତ୍ତ୍ୱ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ଅନ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ତ ରାଗର ମାତା ଭାବରେ ପରିଚିତ । ଏହା ଆରୋହଣରେ କୋମଲ ରେ ଏବଂ କୋମଲ ପା ବ୍ୟବହାର କରେ ଏବଂ ଅବରୋହଣରେ କୋମଲ ନି ଏବଂ କୋମଲ ଧା ବ୍ୟବହାର କରେ । ଏହି ରାଗ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ଏବଂ ଆରାମ କରିବା ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଦର୍ଶନ କରିବା କଷ୍ଟକର ବୋଲି କୁହାଯାଏ ।
ଶ୍ରୀ ରାଗ ଏହାର ଭାରୀ ଗମ୍ଭୀର ପ୍ରକୃତି ଏବଂ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ଭାବାନୁଭୂତି ପାଇଁ ଜଣାଶୁଣା । ଏହା ସାଧାରଣତଃ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାରେ ପ୍ରଦର୍ଶିତ ହୁଏ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରାୟ ଏହାର ସମୃଦ୍ଧ ମେଲୋଡିକ ଗଠନ ଏବଂ ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ଗଭୀରତା ପାଇଁ ସମାଦୃତ । ରାଗର ସ୍ୱରୁପ ଏହାର ଏକ ଗମ୍ଭୀର ଏବଂ ପବିତ୍ର ଭାବ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରେ, ଯାହା ଏହାକୁ ଧ୍ରୁପଦ ଏବଂ ଖ୍ୟାଲ ଶୈଳୀରେ ପ୍ରଦର୍ଶନ ପାଇଁ ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ କରେ ।
