About Ajay Prasanna
Pandit Ajay Prasanna is an internationally acclaimed flautist from a respected musical family. He carries forward the legacy of his father, Pandit Bholanath Prasanna, one of India’s greatest flute masters, whose students include Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.
Born and raised in an atmosphere filled with music, Ajay developed a deep love for the flute at an early age. His style reflects the soulful tradition of the Banaras Gharana while speaking to listeners everywhere. He has performed widely across India and abroad, including at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and major festivals in Asia and Europe.
Ajay Prasanna has been recognised with several honours, including Grammy nominations, the Global Indian Music Award (GIMA) for his album Cinema, the Sangeet Ratna Award from Swami Haridas Samiti, and the Surmani Award from Sur Singar Sansad.
