Alokparna Guha

Alokparna Guha dances and teaches Kathak from Kolkata. She began at five with Sri Pradipta Neogi, and later trained under Dr Malabika Mitra. Her Jaipur training shows in the chakkars, her Lucknow training in the abhinaya.

She holds a Senior Diploma from Prayag Sangeet Siksha Samiti in Allahabad and a Gold Medal from Rabindra Bharati University, alongside a Master's degree in English Literature. She founded PUSHPAK Academy of Dance, which teaches in Kolkata and Toronto under a Pracheen Kala Kendra affiliation.

Guha has danced at the Uday Shankar Dance Festival and the Konark Dance Festival, and abroad in London, Birmingham, Barcelona and Toronto. She directs group productions, among them Ashare Shrabone and Ritubichitra, and has appeared on Calcutta television.
