About KalaSudha
People, purpose and the arts.
Our story
A family effort, since 2023
Rajeev Kumar and Shabd Pyari founded KalaSudha in 2023. We run it together from Newham, with our two children helping at concerts. Rajeev’s work in software also shapes the tools we build for musicians and learners.
At the heart of our concerts is the baithak: a gathering where musicians and listeners sit close and give the music time to unfold. That connection carries through our teaching, recordings and work with artists.
How we support the music
Our income goes back into the mission.
As a social enterprise, we put what comes in back into supporting artists, teaching and the digital tools that connect people with the arts.
Ticket income covers 30 to 40 percent of a concert’s cost. We fund the rest ourselves and take no public funding.
If you leave a concert unhappy, write to us and we will refund your ticket.

Tools for learning and music-making
KalaSudha Composer brings Bhatkhande notation to the browser and is open for testing. We’ve also built video-calling software for live classes, with recordings stored in the cloud so learners can revisit lessons as they practise. Our lesson and ticketing tools support teachers and artists, keeping the human connection at the centre.

Looking ahead · in development
More ways to learn, meet and create.
We are planning instructor visits that connect with online learning, collaborations with instrument makers, and educational projects with institutions. Further concert activity in India is also part of our direction. These are plans, not scheduled offers; opportunities will be announced when confirmed.
In our own words
A letter from the founders
Dear Music Lovers and Practitioners,
KalaSudha was born from a singular realization: the world's most gifted artists were being sidelined by the noise of the digital era. We saw masters of their craft struggling with the tools of the modern age, distracting them from the very art they spent lifetimes perfecting.
Our objective was to build a sanctuary of precision. Every tool we have developed, every curriculum we have architected, and every release we have produced is the result of hundreds of hours of meticulous planning. We take on the burden of the "digital" so that the musician can return to the "spiritual." Today, seeing our community thrive across continents is a testament to the power of tradition when supported by modern excellence.
Whether you are an artist seeking a polished global presence, a promoter searching for streamlined excellence, or a listener craving the highest quality streaming, KalaSudha is your home. We are here to ensure that the beauty of your art is accessible, protected, and celebrated.
If you share our vision for a world where classical excellence knows no borders, we invite you to join us. Together, we are ensuring that these timeless traditions inspire the next generation of virtuosos.
With gratitude,
Shabd Pyari
