Where can I learn Kathakali online with a live teacher?

With KalaSudha, you can learn Kathakali online from a vetted teacher in live one-to-one lessons. In this dance-drama of Kerala, actors who do not speak enact the epics through gesture and facial expression while two singers sing the text.

Training opens with meyyppayattu, body training drawn from Kalaripayattu, Kerala's martial art. Next come the 24 basic mudras, the hand gestures that carry the story. Every beginner starts at Foundation in our online academy, and your teacher closes each topic only after reviewing your work. Where enough learners sign up, we also hold workshops and summer camps in person.
