About the Album
Volume 2 continues the live recording of Instrumental Journey Through Nature from Kala Festival 2023 at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead. The same ensemble performs throughout: Pandit Debasis Chakroborty on Indian slide guitar, Deepak Shah on piano, Lovely Sharma on sitar, and Durjay Bhaumik on tabla.
The volume opens with Raag Jog in two parts, a night raga with a reflective, inward character. It continues with Dhun Based on Raag Yaman in five parts, a lighter melodic form rooted in one of Hindustani music's most familiar evening ragas. Three semi-classical pieces close the recording: Yaad Piya Ki Aaye, Sawan Jhar Lage, and Mohe Maare Najariya Sawariya.
Together, Volumes 1 and 2 document the full Instrumental Journey Through Nature concert, from the Five Elements suite through raga, dhun, and thumri.
