Origins & Context

Nata Bhairava is a light raga in the Bhairava thaat. Its form has the svarasthanas of Raga Bhairava's uttaranga and the purvanga reversed. This raga is more purvanga oriented with its Sa stressed.

Those who are not well versed in music will make this raga sound like Ahir Bhairava, which has different harmonic points. In addition, the starting paces will remind one of Carukesi.
