Perteneciente al Marwa Thaat, este raga es una obra maestra de tensión psicológica. Se define por lo que carece: omite completamente el Pancham (P) y trata al Shadja (S), la nota de inicio, como un punto a evitar.

En Marwa, el alma se siente "sin hogar". Al rondar incesantemente sobre el Komal Re (r) y el Shuddha Dha (D), el raga crea una sensación de anhelo inquieto y renuncia ascética (Tyaga).
