Search KalaSudha for an artist, album or event

To search the KalaSudha website, press the search icon in the header and type an artist, an album, a concert or a city. The search page lists what matches. Results cover albums, artist profiles, courses, upcoming events, giveaways and city pages. Ragas, instruments, gharanas and videos each have their own listing page.

Search the site

1. Press the search icon in the site header. It sits on every page. On a phone, the homepage also shows a Search... bar under the header, which opens the same page.
2. Before you type, the Search page shows Browse by Category cards and Trending Now cards for upcoming events and featured pages. Pick one, or type.
3. Type a name or a word, such as an instrument or a city. A line above the results repeats your words and says how many results matched.
4. Open a result with its button.

What the results show

Each result carries a type label and a button:

• Album: View Album
• Artist: View Profile
• Course: View Course
• Event: Book Tickets
• Giveaway: View Giveaway
• City: Explore City

Only upcoming events appear. A concert drops out of search once it has taken place. To find past concerts, use the Past option on the events page, as Find KalaSudha concerts by city, instrument or date shows.

No exact match?

When no result matches your words in full, the page says "no exact matches found, showing partial matches" and lists the nearest results. Try a shorter word, or the surname alone. Indian names have several English spellings, so try a second one.

Search runs in the language you are reading. To search in English, switch the site to English first: Change the site language.

What site search does not cover

Raga pages, instrument pages, gharana pages, videos and single tracks are not in site search. Open their listing pages instead. The ragas, gharanas and videos pages each have a search box of their own:

• Ragas: the Explore Ragas page, with filters for thaat and time of day. See What does a raga page on KalaSudha tell me?
• Gharanas: the Explore Gharanas page, with instruments on the instruments page. See Explore gharanas, instruments and artforms on KalaSudha.
• Videos: the Video Library. For a single track, open its album from the Releases page and pick the track from the album's track list. See Find an artist's albums and videos on KalaSudha.

Help articles have a search of their own on the help centre pages.

If this does not work

If a page you expect does not appear, check its type. Ragas, instruments and videos have their own listing pages, and past concerts sit on the events page. If you still cannot find it, email [email protected] with what you searched for, and we reply within one working day. See Contact us.
