About This Track

Deepak Shah ends his Norwich recital the way many Hindustani concerts end, with a devotional piece in place of a formal raga. The closing slot of a recital belongs to bhakti: after the discipline of Yaman and Puriya Dhanashree, the final twelve minutes ask for warmth over rigour. Shah has said he wants students to feel a raga rather than play it, and this finale works from that side of his playing.

The track closes the album KalaSudha recorded at The Assembly House, Norwich, on 19 September 2025, when Shah's piano set opened the Norwich Ragas double bill at Kala Festival 2025.
