Which browsers and devices work for KalaSudha classes?

KalaSudha classes work in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a computer, phone or tablet. You join in the browser, so there is no app or download. You need a camera and a microphone, which most devices have built in, plus headphones.

Which browser should I use?

Use Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, kept up to date. Turn on automatic updates, or update the browser the day before your class.

Whichever browser you pick, it asks for permission to use your camera and microphone the first time you join. Choose Allow. If you blocked them by mistake, Set up your camera, microphone and sound for a music class shows where to switch them back on.

Can I join on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Open kalasudha.com in the phone's or tablet's browser, sign in on the sign-in page and join from My Meetings. The class room fits a small screen. Rest the device on a stand so your instructor sees your hands and instrument.

A computer shows your instructor larger, which helps you follow fingering.

Can I share my screen?

Use a computer. Phone and tablet browsers do not offer screen sharing.

Can I use two devices at once?

Yes, as a second microphone. A student signed in to their account can add a phone or tablet beside the instrument, while the computer carries the camera and voice. The second device sends sound only. The steps are in Set up your camera, microphone and sound for a music class. Guests who join with a code cannot use this.

What about the internet connection?

Home broadband or a strong mobile data signal both work. Some workplace and school networks block video calls. If the class room will not connect on such a network, switch to home broadband or to mobile data and try again.
