Tejaswini Vernekar opens her album with the Alap of Raag Shree, the unmetered, tabla-free opening of the raga. Raag Shree is a twilight raga of considerable gravity; the Alap establishes its tonal character before any rhythm is introduced.
The Alap is the first of seven tracks on the album. Vilambit follows on the next two tracks, carrying the raga into its slow-tempo compositions before the progression moves through Drut, Tarana, and the concluding bandish and bhajan.
